ln the late 1970s the then Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia witnessed the birth of one of the biggest cultural revolutions — the emergence of the so-called NEW WAVE. This particular art movement, gathering young, creative people from Ljubljana, Rijeka, Zagreb, Belgrade and Novi Sad, had a single objective to achieve: to see how far they could go in provoking the existing politicat establishment. Orkestar
This film represents a document about the fascinating twenty-five-years-long career of Saša Lošić and Sarajevo's band "Plavi orkestar", and describes a period and generation that lived through a change of system of values but also remained loyal to itsetf. This is a film about optimism, strength and indestructibility of talent, friendship and music.
'Orkestar includes over a hundred personalities which are of significance for the period and the film's context, among which are numerous musicians, politicians, artists, and journalists, but also a lot of unknown people who portray in the best way the emotional map of the film.
The screenplay for this film is signed by director žatica, whereas Saša Lošić is the co-author of the project. Film production is made by the Refresh Production. 'Orkestar' was filmed in Ljubljana, Belgrade, Sarajevo, and several European cities.
